IFR fabrics are made from high quality polyester fibers to qualify for NFPA 701 standard without any other processing. These fabrics are supposed to retain their IFR characteristics throughout their lifetime, but this is not guaranteed (see further information below). This is because many polyester fibers get damaged by sun and heat, which cause them to get flammable. IFR fabrics are highly resistant to both direct and indirect flame, which makes them ideal for use in a wide variety of applications including uniforms, tents, shelters, banners, safety garments, and more.
Fire retardant or flame retardant (FL) fabrics are a special category of clothing, used mainly in the food service industry. The purpose behind introducing a fire retardant into the clothing is to provide better protection against fire. The cost of introducing fire retardant into food service is very high, but it has been found that the cost of preventing the fire is much lower. Due to this, many companies have started using ifr fabrics in food service, especially in the grill and barbecue sections.
Yaodi fire retardant fabrics do have several advantages. The first is that they are flame resistant, which helps prevent food and beverages from being contaminated by them. They also provide a measure of protection for the public places where these materials are used, such as restaurants, hotels, schools and other public places. Another benefit is that they do not allow fire to spread very quickly in the food service zones. The risk of spreading fire to other areas is significantly reduced with these materials.
